Hello!

Dr. Arya Pretlow, DNP, CNM, IBCLC, C-IAYT

About Me

My name is Arya Pretlow. I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, and Certified Yoga Therapist with a passion for client-centered, evidence-based, trauma-informed care. I have supported clients from all walks of life in a variety of settings and circumstances. My practice focuses on integrative wellness throughout the lifespan, with special emphasis on lifestyle interventions that support each client's optimal health. Dedicated to cultural fluency, I strive to build trust and provide a safe space for clients to receive the care that they seek.

A lifelong learner, I often pursue opportunities for continuing education/professional advancement. This year, my focus is on earning a certificate as a Menopause Practitioner from The Menopause Society. I completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) this winter, and will work on getting my final SQUIRE paper published in a peer-reviewed journal. Finally, I'm looking forward to presenting at conferences! Previous academic pursuits include a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in Gender Studies and Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and post-graduate studies is psychiatric nursing. Can't stop, won't stop!

I am energetic, compassionate, and fiesty. I have always been very driven and disciplined, which is why I thrived as an Air Force officer even though, ultimately, I decided to return to civilian life after 4 years of service. I am very lucky that my professional and personal interests intertwine through health and fitness. When I'm not providing client care, I'm probably researching, writing, attending a continuing education class, or teaching one myself. If I'm actually "off", I like to strength train, practice yoga, cook, knit, dance, and hike. I am honored to share life with my husband and daughter.
